China's customs said on Tuesday that it has allowed imports of Distillers' dried grains (DDGs) from Bulgaria.

The trade move, effective from Tuesday, comes as China seeks to diversify import origins of feed ingredients amid trade tensions with the United States.

The products exported to China must be free of harmful pests including Cernuella virgata Da Costa and Solenopsis invicta Buren, China's General Administration of Customs said in a statement on its website.

DDGs, an important feed ingredient, are a byproduct of ethanol production.
