The USA has their Thanksgiving holiday later in the week, so the coming week will probably be a quiet week. For last week there wasn’t a great deal of market excitement – only a great many people talking about and guessing about the US/China trade situation. The USDA WASDE (World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates) report did hold a few surprises this week: increased China corn stocks, lower US corn yields, lower US soybean yields, higher world ending stocks for all corn, soybeans and wheat. Soybeans and soymeal had an up week this week on some feelings that the US and China could reach some agreement on the trade situation. Sorry that I am a day late with this week’s report. I didn’t get back from the European Commodity Exchange event until late Saturday – and the with a devil of a cold. It was much colder in Rouen than I had expected – that is what happens when you live in the warmer south of France. Other than a little rally in wheat prices on Friday, we had a down week for almost everything, except corn. Corn ended up unchanged on the week while US soybeans were down by about USD 5 m/t and soymeal down by about the same....................please click PDF to see more details

This coming week is the European Grain Bourse in Rouen, France – there should be at least 2,500 grain people wandering around the conference center, hoping to make new contacts or meet old friends.
