All the holidays in North America are now behind us for a while and by next week everything there should be about back to normal. Looking at prices, the week ended with a down day for all grains and soybeans which made the week look like about an unchanged week – at least for futures prices........please click PDF to see more details

With all these Christmas and New Year holidays, there is a lack of business, business news and excitement in the grain/oilseed trade. Looking at prices for the last week, the only excitement seemed to be for wheat prices. Corn and soybean prices were pretty well unchanged on the week as was soymeal but US winter wheat was up by USD 5 to 7 m/t with spring wheat up by about the same amount........please click PDF to see more details

US winter wheat took a dip with soft red winter down by about USD 6 m/t and hard red winter down by about the same ...........please click PDF to see more details

This week was a quieter than normal week as most of the US grain companies were closed for the Thursday Thanksgiving holiday and then closed or short-staffed for the Friday.
Corn prices were steady on the week – both cash and futures – while soybean prices were down by about USD 7 m/t.......please click PDF to see more details

So, a down week for everything but US wheat – corn is down by USD 1 or 2 m/t, while soybeans dropped by USD 7 to 9 m/t and soymeal down by around USD 8 to 10 m/t. US winter wheat was up by about USD 3 to 6 m/t.
There wasn’t all that much reason for corn prices to drift lower this week – actually there wasn’t much reason for any change with corn.......please clcik PDF to see more details

We had all the USDA WASDE and WASDE related report issued on Friday and overall it seems to have been much of a non-event. At least for Friday there was no strong reaction in the markets – perhaps there will be more reaction on Monday.......please click PDF to see more details

Not a great deal of change in grain/oilseed prices in the US this week – December corn was up by about USD 1 m/t, January 2020 soybeans were also up by about USD 1 m/t while soymeal was up by less than USD 1 m/t. Even wheat prices didn’t do much this week........please click PDF to see more details
