Peru PRODUCE announced higher quota 3.3 millions

Produce indicated that the capture quota assigned to the first season of 2018 is around 3.3 million tons, according to the recommendation of the Marine Institute of Peru (Imarpe), higher than the 2.8 million tons set in the first season of 2017.
 
The Ministry of Production (Produce) Peru reported today that the first fishing season 2018 of the anchoveta resource in the north-central area of ​​the Peruvian coast will begin with a five-day exploratory fishing on Saturday, April 7.
 
Ministerial Resolution No. 142-2018-Produce, published today in the Official Gazette El Peruano, it was decided that the fishing will be applied to the anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and white anchoveta (Anchoa nasus) in the area between northern end of the maritime domain and 16 ° 00 'South Latitude.
 
For the first fishing season of this year, the total maximum allowed limit of this resource for indirect human consumption is 3,316 million. This figure exceeds that assigned last year by 0.5 million tons.
 
Exploration Period 
In turn, Produce authorized the execution of an exploratory anchovy fishery begun on April 9, 2018, until the end of April 11. This is allowed in order to have up-to-date information on the distribution of the marine resource, its size structure and the incidence of other species.
