La primera temporada de pesca de anchoveta en la zona centro-norte del pais se abrira con una cuota de 2,8 millones de toneladas, segun dispuso el Ministerio de la Produccion (Produce).

El limite fijado es mayor en 55,5% frente al establecido por el Produce en el similar periodo del 2016, cuando la cuota total fue de 1,8 millones de toneladas.

"Hemos encontrado un nivel de biomasa importante de anchoveta [7,8 millones de toneladas] que nos dice que venimos haciendo las cosas bien. Estamos fijando una cuota de 2,8 millones de toneladas y dejamos en el mar un poco mas de 6 millones de toneladas, bastante mas holgado que el protocolo normal [4 millones de toneladas]", dijo ante la prensa el ministro de la Produccion, Bruno Giuffra.

El inicio de la primera temporada de captura de la anchoveta iniciara este sabado 22 de abril. Giuffra indico que esta durara hasta que se alcance la cuota establecida, aunque advirtio que "vamos a seguir con el cierre inmediato en zonas donde haya presencia de ejemplares juveniles".

Esto sumado a la cuota fijada por el Produce, hace que la pesca del sector industrial ascienda a 3,5 millones toneladas de anchoveta, lo que significa un 20% mas frente al ano pasado, segun calculos de Conterno.

"Con el limite establecido y lo que se fije para la segunda temporada, sin duda vamos a tener un ano bastante positivo luego de varios anos con resultados malos", destaco.

Las empresas industriales han venido preparandose para esta primera temporada, pues muchas han invertido en la rehabilitacion de sus embarcaciones y el potenciamiento de la capacidad instalada de sus plantas. Conterno estimo que completar el 100% de la cuota de pesca de la anchoveta para esta primera temporada, le tomara a las empresas unos tres meses.

Las empresas del sector pesquero han potenciado la capacidad instalada de sus plantas para la primera temporada de captura de anchoveta.

Por otro lado, el gremio pesquero considero que el inicio de captura de anchoveta ayudara a dinamizar la economia de las ciudades costeras golpeadas por los desastres, pues la pesca tiene una fuerte demanda de servicios, cadenas refrigeracion y transporte.
