Cash trend of China fishmeal has been remaining firm at RMB12,500/ton at Shanghai port during the week while lockdowns keep reducing inland transportation from harbor to job sites. On the other hand, the depreciating currency of RMB would move up landed cost of the imported fishmeal products by RMB400-500/ton. Though Shanghai keeps lockdown without seeing apparent change, bidding range of China fishmeal at other main ports has already moved up to RMB13,000/ton.

FM Comments:

RMB Market: CFO measures the depreciating currency of RMB would keep moving up cash trend of China fishmeal though there’s no business movement so far at Shanghai. As of China Customs, RMB would keep showing depreciating status in a short term and that could be a fact that moves up landed cost of imported fishmeal products. Meanwhile, China has slowed down Q1’s arrivals of fishmeal cargoes by reducing 14.48% from the same period of 2021.
