Corn prices were steady to just slightly lower this week as soybeans tried to run higher.
Corn planting in the US is doing quite well and the thoughts of a good crop but lower demand tried to push prices down. Corn usage for ethanol production is very bad with a drop of about 48% in corn consumption – all of this is known to the market,..........please click PDF to see more details

This week was USDA-WASDE week, but the trade seemed to feel that there were not too many surprises hidden in the report.
The WASDE showed a small increase in corn stocks but overall, there was not much in the way of new and startling corn information reported. There was no strong market reaction to the report – corn prices didn’t do anything much.......please click PDF to see more details.

Hammersmith Weekly Feed Grain and Protein Report Wk#13

This week was a down week for prices for most every grain, oilseed and protein meal. Corn prices dropped in the US by USD 5 to 6 m/t with soybeans falling by USD 9 to 11 m/t and soymeal down by USD 16 to 20 m/t. It was an interesting week for US futures prices: corn prices dropped by USD 7 to 9 m/t while nearby soybeans were up by about USD 5 m/t and nearby soymeal up by as much as USD 26 m/t. It was a down week for most everything this week – some say it is just a short term coronavirus reaction. US corn prices were down by about USD 4 m/t while soybean did much worse dropping close to USD 15 m/t and soymeal down by USD 7 to 10 m/t. All wheat was also lower – from USD 4 to 7 m/t.
