Peru is expected to announce the total allowable catch (TAC) for the first anchovy season in the center-north area as soon as this week.

Its said quota is to be 2.8 million metric tons while many producers expect the quota  ranging between 2m and 3 m metric tons.  Today, Peruvian fishmeal super prime RMB price is at 11300-11500/mt level but negotiable due to poor demand with current stock at China main port about 160,000 mt level.    If the quota is set in the upper part of the range, it could pressure not only China but global fishmeal prices.

The TAC will take into account the research carried out by the Peruvian institute of the sea Imarpe.
